2011 Samsung Models
Samsung 40" UN40D6400
Wow is the word we used to describe the picture from this 40" TV from Samsung the UN40D6400. 3D is a feature in this TV and looks great as well as the complete Smart Hub Smart TV options and a full web browser. However, what really separates this TV from others is 2 dimensional depth perception and viewing as it creates a 3D like effect. Feature standouts are all over the place and there are tons of little Apps to play with in the Smart TV section.
Samsung 40" UN40D6300
The D6300 series has all the featurs of the D6000 series but all Samsung's new Allshare feature for streaming media over your home network and compaible devices. This competitively priced LED backlit LCD provides good value. See the full review and video review of the UN40D6300
Samsung 40" UN40D6000
The 40" Samsung UN40D6000 is an LED backlit LCD TV with a narrow black frame of over an inch, with a beautiful acrylic trim. This LED offering is very competitively priced and we really like it from a value standpoint, giving it an 8.5 on our 10 point scale. All in all, the features set is complete with the exception of an included Wifi Dongle. The TV is Wifi ready, but Samsung sells the USB Wifi dongle for $79, while many manufacturers either include Wifi in the TV or include the Wifi dongle in the box. Samsung 40" UN40D5500
The D5500 line of LED TVs represents a smaller sized, lower priced option perfect for bedrooms or dorm rooms. The 2011 D630 series are CCFL backlit LCD TVs that include Samsung's new Allshare feature that allows you to stream media from your home network to the TV, it also features built-in WiFi for easy access to your home network. We were highly impressed with the 6 series ast year and expect this year to be the same.
