Panasonic LCD Display Technology

3D Y/C Digital Comb Filter: The Motion-Adaptive 3D Y/C digital comb filter performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the color from the black-and-white information. It removes dot crawl and hanging dots both horizontally and vertically.

Enhanced Definition TV (EDTV)
This unit provides Enhanced Definition TV picture resolution, which means that it can display a 480p signal from a progressive-scan DVD player (but not true HDTV signals, which are either 720p or 1080i).

Progressive Cinema Scan
Movie film consists of a series of still images viewed at 24 frames-per-second. On TV broadcasts or videotapes, these images are converted to interlaced signals at 30 frames-per-second. Panasonic LCD TVs detect this conversion and use still-image processing for each individual image to achieve clear, smooth-flowing images with a level of detail that closely approaches that of the original film.

Active Light Control
This circuitry automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly in real-time.

Active System Control

Aspect Ratio Switching
