Key Features of the Panasonic TC-32LH1 32" LCD TV Monitor

Panasonic TC-32LH1 LCD TV

The stylish appearance of the TC-32LH1 isn't the only thing that it has going for it. The 16:9 LCD widescreen aspect ratio offers a stellar picture with the same aspect ratio you see in movie theaters. Other features include an LCD AI with Active Light Control, which automatically detects brightness levels and adjusts them accordingly; Progressive Cinema Scan, which detects if the program you are watching was shot on film and uses still-image processing to achieve the same level of detail as the original print; Super DSC, or Dynamic Sharpness Control, which enhances images with more detail, giving a lifelike picture; and a built-in 11-Watt audio system with 4 speakers for simulated Surround Sound.

Panasonic LCD Display Technology

The TC-32LH1 LCD TV provides full High Definition TV (HDTV) picture resolution, providing beautiful images from 480p progressive-scan DVD players plus HDTV with an optional HDTV tuner! A built-in progressive-scan line-doubler will improve the look of all your standard NTSC signals (antenna, cable, VCR, etc.), resulting in super-sharp images with no visible scan lines.

16:9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio
These widescreen TVs have a width-to-height ratio similar to movie theater screens, providing you with cinema-style entertainment right in your own home. Moreover, they enable full-screen viewing of high-definition broadcasts and DVD videos, which are produced in 16:9 format.

3D Y/C Digital Comb Filter: The Motion-Adaptive 3D Y/C digital comb filter performs field-by-field comparisons of the television image to accurately separate the color from the black-and-white information. It removes dot crawl and hanging dots both horizontally and vertically.

Progressive Cinema Scan
Movie film consists of a series of still images viewed at 24 frames-per-second. On TV broadcasts or videotapes, these images are converted to interlaced signals at 30 frames-per-second. Panasonic LCD TVs detect this conversion and use still-image processing for each individual image to achieve clear, smooth-flowing images with a level of detail that closely approaches that of the original film.

Active Light Control
This circuitry automatically detects the brightness levels of the input signal and adjusts the backlight accordingly in real-time.

Active System Control
This technology dynamically adjusts the video signal according to the image contrast. Working in tandem with Active Light Control, it adds greater brightness to bright scenes and brings more depth to dark scenes.

New LCD AI (Adaptive Brightness Intensifier)
Panasonic's original LCD AI technology uses Active Light Control and Active System Control functions to boost brightness and deliver deeper blacks in scenes with varying contrast. The new LCD AI goes a step further, using a control method that achieves deeper, more lifelike images in scenes where previous AI systems fell short. The result is greater detail, depth and realism.

Convenience Features

Aspect Ratio Switching
This LCD TV allows you to choose the correct aspect ratio - 4:3 or 16:9 (letterbox) - according to the signal input. In TV mode, the aspect mode is set to 4:3, and aspect controls are not available.

Viewing Angle
The TC-17LA1 has a horizontal viewing angle of 160 degrees.

Picture Mode
You can choose from the following picture modes:

Sleep Timer
The sleep timer switches the television off after a specified amount of time. The sleep timer can be set to 30, 60, or 90 minutes.

Audio System Features

Four Titanium Dome-type Speakers, 11 Watts Total Audio Power
Stereo Speakers in completely enclosed speaker boxes provide superior reproduction of mid-to high-range sounds.

Surround Sound
The phase of the original sound is delayed from a 2-channel source, creating a "surround" effect, including simulated stereo sound from monaural sources.

Audio Mode
You can choose from the following audio modes:

Artificial Intelligence (Al) Sound Level Control
This feature controls the volume level automatically to prevent wide variations in volume among different TV channels and types of programming.

Terminals and Connections

HDMI High Definition Digital Input
This Panasonic LCD TV features HDMI input. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. HDMI provides an interface between any audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, and A/V receiver and an audio and/or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV).

HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.

Component Video Inputs
The component video input jacks consist of a luminance signal and two separate chrominance signals. Combining these three inputs provides you with video images that have outstanding resolution and color accuracy. Panasonic televisions with these component video inputs can accept either progressive or interlaced signals from a variety of sources, including DVD players and DTV set-top boxes.
