LG30 Series

32LG30, 37LG30

This LCD TV is produced in smaller sized and has 1366 X 768 (720p) resolution. Dynamic contrast ratio is listed at 12,000:1 (this is not native contrast). This entry level LCD television houses 2 HDMI inputs. It contains some of LG's newest technologies including invisible speakers with Clear Voice technology. This technology gives the user a better experience by enhancing the audio output for voice dialogue during programming. The 42LG30 also has changeable AV modes for varying programming including sports, gaming, and cinema. All of the LG30 models include a swivel stand with the LCD. The TV also has contains the expert mode enhancement.

37LG30

This LCD TV has 1366 X 768 (720p) resolution. Dynamic contrast ratio is listed at 12,000:1 (this is not native contrast). This entry level LCD television houses 2 HDMI inputs. The 42LG30 also has changeable AV modes for varying programming including sports, gaming, and cinema. All of the LG30 models include a swivel stand with the LCD. The TV also has contains the expert mode enhancement.

LG31 Series

Models: 19LG31, 22LG31

In addition to the above features there are a few changes with the LG31 series. First and foremost this TV bezel framing color is white rather than black. The contrast ratio is much lower at 1,000 to 1 but this should not be much of an issue since it is such a small TV. This LCD television is aptly dubbed, "the kitchen model."

LG40 Series

Models: 26LG40, 32LG40

As noted above this LCD television comes in only two sizes 26" and 32". The key feature difference with this LCD television is an in built DVD player. The Scarlett accent is present on the bottom portion of the framing bezel. The unit has a 5,000:1 contrast ratio, 3 X HDMI inputs and a USB 2.0 input for digital device connectivity. There is also an RGB 15 pin computer input. Due to the convenience of a built in DVD player feature this LCD TV is nick named the "bedroom model."


LG50 Series

Models: 37LG50, 42LG50, 47LG50, 52LG50

In addition to all of the features listed for prior models (except the built in DVD player). This model moves us up in resolution to 1080p (1920 X 1080). As well dynamic contrast increases to 15,000 to 1 (native contrast is 5,000:1). There is superior processing power especially when converting film transfer with this LCD. It contains 24hz real cinema processing and the refresh rate is enhanced. A USB 2.0 port for JPEG and camcorders is present. Lastly, there is a significant enhancement feature for day and night sensing which automatically adjusts the contrast accordingly. This is also part of the ISF certification of the unit.


LG70 Series

32LG70, 42LG70, 47LG70, 52LG70

The LG70 series is a premium line of LCD televisions produced by LG for year 2008. This LCD television continues with 1080p resolution. The contrast is increased considerably to 40,000:1 (dynamic) and a fourth HDMI input has been added. The refresh rate is also increased to the highest standard 120hz. The LCD has many of LG's newest design elements with a Scarlett red accent to the bezel and a metallic silver accent on the bottom of the frame. The LCD is 5" in depth.


LG60 Series

32LG60, 42LG60, 47LG60, 52LG60

Stepping back in number but forward in features is the LG60 series. This is actually the very top premium LCD TV product (along with the LGX series) for 2008. It contains more design upgrades including a Scarlett accent the back of the unit and on the pedestal base. The framing bezel is a mere 3.4" in depth so this LCD will be preferable for wall mounting. The dynamic contrast ratio has also been increased to 50,000:1 and there are 4 HDMI inputs.


LGX Series

42LGX, 47LGX

These LCD TV models are due out in late summer to early fall of 2008. They continue with some of the Scarlett design features. The stunning upgrade in this LCD is the depth of only 1.8". It has 1080p resolution and all of the new LG technologies including processing enhancements. It contains 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 4 HDMI inputs (3 in back, 1 on side).

LG75 Series

Continuing into the future. LG will be coming with this super thin 1.8" LED backlit 47LG75. Though there are no release dates yet, this LCD promises backlighting from 128 LED bulbs rather than standard flourescent style backlighting. This will increase brightness considerably. Contrast is 1,000,000:1 (dynamic). The unit will have 4ms response time and 500cd/m2 brightness. There are 4 HDMI inputs with 1080p resolution and 24hz rate processing.
