SHARP LCD TV MODELS OVERVIEW 2007/2008

Sharp has lots of models of current LCD TVs in the marketplace. It is easy to get confused about the features of each. Following is a simple guide to help clarify what features each series has.

Sharp LC-D92U Series LCD Television

This is Sharps highest rated LCD television series in terms of features. Upgrades include:

  • 1080p resolution
  • 4 Millisecond Response Rate (when Fine Motion Advance Feature is ON)
  • 120hz Frame Rate Conversion (this is Fine Motion Advance)
  • 3000:1 native contrast ratio
  • DVI Input
  • RS232 Input
  • 5 Wavelength Backlight (Sharp claims this helps colors be more brilliant)
  • Dual 15 watt speakers
  • Not compatible with 1080p Blu Ray input (down converts to 1080i)

Sharp LC-D82U Series LCD TV

Same as D92 Series except for the following:

  • Dual 10 watt speakers rather than 15 watt

Sharp LC-D64U Series LCD TVs

Sharp LC-D62U Series LCDs

This is an older model from Sharp (end of 2006 model) that is being phased out at the end of 2007. It has 1080p resolution but slower refresh rate (frame rate conversion) and slower response rate (hard to pin down what it actually is). It also lacks many of the newer features from the above listed models.
