Sony 40" KDL40EX640
Colors do pop more on this model than on last years which is an improvement but we would still like to see more saturation. That's why this is a great value model.

Sony 40" KDL40BX450
The BX series televisions are designed to provide you good picture quality at a value oriented price and they deliver here.

2011 Sony Models

Sony KDL40EX720
The new 40" KDL40EX720 series model LCD TV with LED backlighting is no slouch even though it is squarely in the middle of the pack in Sony's lineup for 2011 and 2012. This model will be current until spring 2012 and is a good mid-range choice with 3D compatibility. There is a lot of glare from the screen from bright lights but aside that, it's a competitive model. This is a replacement for the EX710 series which entered the market in mid-2010. It has 1080p, LED edge lit panel and expanded internet features, it is available in 4 sizes. See the full review and video review of the EX720 Series

Sony KDL40EX620
The Sony KDL40EX620 40" LCD TV (with LED Backlighting) is a 2011 model set to be produced until spring of 2012. It has some nice attributes as follow: Deep dark black levels, 120Hz motionflow, a strong input selection feature, Full Internet browser for search (very unusual for this low price point). On the negative side the side angle viewing quality on this TV is not great. It also has poorer audio quality and volume than we wished for and the remote control is not backlit. But the price point is very attractive. See the full review and video review of the EX620 Series

Sony KDL40EX520
The most affordable line of EX series televisions announced at CES 2011 is the entry-level EX520, containing many features of the higher line EX series the EX520 offers Sony quality at lower prices.

Sony KDL40BX420
The BX lines represent Sony's tradionally backlit LCD TVs, the 1080p BX420 is the highest end line of these and are available in 3 sizes all at affordable prices.

2010 Sony Models

Sony Bravia XBR-40LX900
Sony's 3D capable Bravia XBR line for 2010 is the LX900 series of LED edge lit LCD TVs. The 1080p panel features Sony's MotionFlow 240Hz to reduce motion lag and image doubling in 3D as well as the Bravia Engine 3 video processor reduces noise.

Sony Bravia KDL-40EX700
