Below are some of my top TV choices for holiday sales and deals for 2011. I've mixed up the sizes to give you choices there but many of these TVs have several other sizes in the same series and may also be an exceptional value. Samsung UN55D6000 55" Edge Lit LED TV $1499

You may even find a better price than the stated $1499. The clear coat screen on this edge lit LED TV is one of the reasons for its exceptional 9/10 rating on HD picture quality performance. It does not have 3D capability but does have Samsung's full Smart Internet TV suite of options. At 55" you're getting lots of screen size at this price. No 3D...

Toshiba 46SL417U 46" Edge Lit LED TV $849

This is one of the most compelling values in LED TVs in the 46" size range. This size tends to be pricey on a per square inch basis, but Toshiba has managed to keep this TV in line. It has all the excellent features of it's counterparts in technology. A great look, Internet TV access, cool remote. We liked it a lot when we reviewed it this summer. TV is 120Hz. No 3D.

LG 55LK520 55" LCD TV $1099

55 inches of great stable picture quality for $1099 is hard to beat. We reviewed a predecessor to this TV and found the LCD picture quality good with both HD and standard definition signals. This TV is full 1080p but does not have Internet TV or 3D capability. Get a Roku box for your Internet TV and you're all set.

Samsung LN32D450 32" LCD TV $339

This little Samsung LCD is a good value and one does not need to overpay for LED lighting technology nor higher Hz rates when buying a small TV. This LCD TV will suffice fine and still has plenty of HDMI inputs (3) and an attractive framing.

Vizio E321VL 32" $290

You might even find a better price on this piece. It has the same features exactly as the above Samsung and very comparable quality. It does have a few more advanced menu picture setting options than the Samsung and possibly and bit more colorful picture quality with HD signals as our reviews note.

Sharp LC52LE830U 52" Edge Lit LED $1689

This is a fully loaded edge lit LED from Sharp that is a very good seller with 3D compatibility, built in Wifi, Internet, and 240Hz rate – not to mention 52 inches of diagonal viewing area. You get a lot of bang for your buck and do some future proofing with this TV. Sharps' Quad pixel technology is not bad either...adding pop to yellow and gold tones..

Samsung LN46D630 46" LCD TV $847

Look for value in this traditional CCFL LCD TV. It's got built in wifi, and Samsung's Allshare search function. It also has a great picture quality due to Samsung's clear coat technology. It replaces one of our favorite TVs from 2010 the LNC630 and C650 series. Samsung, please do not stop making these excellent LCD TVs.

Samsung LN40D550 40" LCD TV $499

It's difficult to find a great deal in the 40" size but Samsung has done it with this model. In a smaller size TV such as this both the LCD backlighting and foregoing higher HZ rates makes sense. As well, if you want Internet connectivity you can always add a Roku box or similar. Samsung's clear coat LCD screen - perfected in 2010 will give you a great picture.

JVC JLC32BC3000 32" LED TV $359

Normally we would not recommend upper end techologies for a TV of 32 inches but this JVC Black Crystal is the same price as a competing 32" LCD backed TV. It also has full 1080p resolution and a 120Hz rate. It's a good TV for brightly lit rooms.
