The Samsung UN46D6000 represents a great Value in Today's LED Market
by Jack Burden
With so many TVs focusing on 3D compatibility and fancy remotes, it's nice to come across an offering that just wants to look good in your living room while giving you some excellent picture quality from HD signals. We've noted on many of this years Samsung TVs that one of the big strengths is picture depth. Black level is not bad either when viewing front and center. Our review editors gave this TV a 9 out of 10 in HD picture quality.
Most authorized dealers including Vanns, One Call and Cruthfield are selling this thin LED TV for a little over the thousand dollar mark. Most are around $1099. That's really a good value considering the fact that there are almost no plasma TV offerings in the 46" size and most 3D offerings cost an extra $300 or so. There are plenty of extras however on the UN46D6000 including a full Internet suite and a 10 point white balance control settings.
Says our ten year veteran TV reviewer Robert Wiley, "It's just really difficult to find a great value in the 46" size category. The Toshiba SL417 is pretty good, and Sony has a couple of good choices. The problem is that those TVs have matte finish anti-glare screens while the UN46D6000 has that nice clear coat screen that helps so much with picture depth and black levels.
