The 2012 L2200 series is only available in one size, 50 inch, normally a size reserved for plasma televisions this year Toshiba is making at least one LED TV in this size. The L2200 is a Direct LED TV which means it has true LED back lighting as opposed to LED edge lighting like you find in most LED TV models. This is a price driven model costing around $700. LG 42CS570
The majority of LG's 2012 models have LED back lighting but they are still producing some lines of CCFL (fluorescent) back lit LCD televisions. The CS570 series are 1080p LCD panels with fluorescent back lighting and that puts them in a budget price bracket. The CS570 comes in two sizes, 47" and 42". Samsung LN46E550
Features-wise there is not a whole lot to discuss. The E550 is not a feature laden model. It does not have Internet function or 3D capability. It has SRS trusurround to give the audio funtion a little more zip from the 10w speakers. The CMR picture smoothing mentioned above is really its best feature. The 32LM6200 is LG's only LED backlit 32" TV so it deserves some attention if you are looking for a TV this size. It can be picked up for around $550. This solid performer is very popular at $268. The 32C120U does not feature LED back lighting, it uses flourescent lighting to save on production costs. It does not produce the same bright whites as LED but it often has more uniform lighting than LED edge lighting.
