Best LED TV 2015 - Top LED TVs from Samsung, Sony, LG, Sharp

Keep in mind that all OLED TVs are excluded from this list. Here are our favorite LED backlit TVs for 2015 including 4K UHD and 1080p LED TVs.

1) Sony XBR-65X900C

Sony wins first place with their 4K UHD XBR-65X900C with it's excellent processing engine. For up-scaling normal HD and standard def I like Sony best. Also consider the XBR-65X930C with effective side mounted speakers. Also see the current XBR-65X950B and XBR-65X850B.

2) For a more price competitive Sony model still with the excellent IK Processor X1 engine and Google's Android OS consider the XBR-65X850C series (also available in 55”, and 75”)

3) Samsung UN65JS9500 SUHD LED TV

Samsung UN65JS9500 Samsung has a whopping (in price and quality) 4K UHD model called SUHD. The“S” stands for Super not Samsung. The SUHD has a new Nanocrystal film layer and color system DCI P3 to deliver a wider color spectrum

4) Sharp 60EU30 4K LED TV

4) Sharp is a good value in 4K UHD with it's new 60EU30 60” model which is also available in 70” and 80” sizes for 2015/16. The 4K model has Aquo dimming (local dimming zones) and the Google Android TV Platform.

5) LG 55LB7200

The 55LB7200 is a mid-tier LED TV with plenty to offer in terms of picture quality. Local dimming is one of the star picture quality features as it helps to boost the overall contrast in images. It is part of the Triple XD picture processing engine and is called TruBlack Control.

6) Samsung UN55H7150

Just like the F7100 from last year, the light flow through created by the LED Backlight on this TV is amazing. We consider it one of this TVs best picture quality characteristics. LED edge lighting is known to cause uniformity issues, but it can be addressed with a simple adjustment.

7) Vizio M652i-B2

7) Vizio M652i-B2. It's hard to beat this 1080p LED backed TV for Value. It has very good contrast for an LED TV with 32 active local dimming zones – a rare feature for a value model.

8) Sharp LC-80LE650U

Sharp LC-80LE650U. If you will be sitting front and center and want something huge and value oriented why not try this 80” very reliable Sharp model. Contrast will degrade off center but you cant beat the price per viewing inch.

9) Samsung UN55HU8550

Samsung UN55HU8550 is the flat version of 4K for Samsung. You get that beautiful clear coat screen and quad core processor for only 2 grand in the 55” size. Also available in many sizes. The 65” UN65HU8500 sells for 3K.
